The session aims to discuss the role of accountability institutions in advancing open government principles and engaging in OGP processes. In particular, the session will focus on three specific objectives: (1) Share experiences and good practices by accountability institutions to promote transparency, citizen participation and accountability, in line with the OGP principles; (2) explore how accountability institutions have engaged in OGP so far, especially along the entire OGP cycle at the country level (from the consultation, to implementation and evaluation of national action plans); (3) identify entry points for enhancing the role of accountability institutions in national OGP processes (e.g. in strengthening open government practices at the country level, in OGP commitment delivery, etc.) to build more robust accountability systems.
